Barbara's story

Barbara Hollingworth is proof that a 65-year-old can be as passionate and determined as girls a quarter her age. She marked her birthday by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise $10,000 for Because I am a Girl.

Allison and Anna hosted a Pink LemonAid Stand

Mother and daughter used our complimentary LemonAid Kit to prep, promote and set up the stand outside Anna's primary school.

Teens Amy and Saba

Teens Amy and Saba represented the movement at the UN

They spoke at the 2010 United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

Enza

Enza held a 40th birthday fundraising party

She invited 160 guests to learn about the movement and support it.

Sara and daughter Maddy

Sara and daughter Maddy started the Markham Women`s 5K and Girls`1K race

They raised $20,000 for a girls` school residence in Tanzania.

Sandra

Sandra hosted the second exclusive Bag Lady of Bay Street™

Power of the Purse Event. The first event, supported by Macquarie Private Wealth, raised over $50,000.

Rachael

Rachael sold cookies, babysat and requested money instead of gifts

She raised $1,000 to purchase water and sanitation for a community.

Kate and her Mom

Kate and her Mom bought Because I am a Girl T-shirts to give out at her birthday party

Kate also gave a prize-winning speech about the cause at a public speaking contest.

Pauline, Avery and Laura

Pauline, Avery and Laura hosted a 'Girls Can Soar' art auction and concert

They collected and created art for the auction and composed, performed and sold a song, raising almost $900.00

Michaela

Michaela gave a presentation at her school about Because I am a Girl
